                          Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and natural built environment, including work like sewers, dams, power plants, transmission tower/lines, railroads, highways, bridges, tunnel, irrigation canal, river navigation, shipping canal, traffic control, mass transit, airport runways, terminals, industrial plant buildings, skyscrapers, etc… Among the important subdivisions of the field are construction engineering, structural engineering, environmental engineering, irrigation engineering, transport engineering, soil and foundation engineering, geodetic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and coastal and ocean engineering.

Civil engineers build the world’s infrastructure. In doing so, they quietly shape the history of nations around the world. Most people cannot imagine life without the many contributions of civil engineers to the public health, safety and standard of living. Only by exploring civil engineering influence in shaping the world we know today, can we creatively envision the progress of our tomorrows.


  • Survey laboratory has well equipped instrument like Total station, Theodolite, Metric chain, Tapes, GPS, Plane table, Dumpy level, Tachometer, Prismatic compass, etc… The student can acquire practical knowledge in the field using these instruments.
  • Material testing laboratory is equipped with equipments like Blaine’s permeability apparatus, vicat apparatus, pyconometer, sieves, compaction factor testing machine, compression testing machine, mechanical sieve shaker, Los angles abrasion testing machine, hot air oven, Proctor compaction mold etc…
  • Construction practice laboratory:-This lab is equipped with wire cut mud bricks, bar bending table, mason’s tool kit, carpentering tools etc…
  • Hydraulics laboratory:-The hydraulics laboratory is equipped with flow measuring equipments like orifices, mouth pieces, notches, weir, orifice meters, venturimeter, pipe friction apparatus... It also has single and multistage centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps. It is hence well equipped laboratory for education, training, calibration and consultancy.
  • Computer aided building and drawing laboratory:-CADD laboratory is well equipped with computers of 2GB Intel Pentium Core 2 duo processor with AutoCAD 2006 for the planning, elevation and section of the building. In this lab students can gain their knowledge in the designing of the building.
  • Environmental Laboratory:-Environmental lab is well equipped with all required chemicals and the laboratory equipment is well maintained.
